PF to capitalise on 'divided' UPND

- By JACKSON MAPAPAYI

THE Patriotic Front (PF) in North-Western Province says it will take advantage of the confusion in UPND to recruit more new members.

PF provincial Youth vice chairman, Herold Zholomi, said many UPND members had been side- lined especially after the intraparty elections.

He said the opposition members were frustrated, a situation the ruling party would capitalise on.

Mr Zholomi advised his party members to swiftly move and recruit all those UPND members that had been sidelined and increase the numbers ahead of next year's general elections.

"This is the time to penetrate and destroy the UPND camp here in North- western province because they are still divided. So, as a party we should take advantage of their differences by bringing on board all those who have been sidelined," Mr Zholomi said.

He said time was running out hence the urgent eed to recruit more members to produce

Members of Parliament (MPs), council chairmen and more councillors.

Mr Zholomi stated that it would be embarrassing if the ruling party would not produce even a single MP when the ground was politically fertile.

He however indicated that the youths in the province were working round the clock in ensuring that they secure more votes for President Edgar Lungu and the PF.

He said apart from sensitisation programmes, some centres had been established were online voter registration can be done from.

"As youths, this is part of our party mobilisation ahead of next year's elections, and we will not allow any detractor on our way because our interest is to make sure we produce more votes for President Lungu," he said.

And Mr Zholomi has advised all party members aspiring for various positions to avoid politics of character assassination.

He said it is illogical for members of the same family to start tearing each other apart.
