Z AMBIAnational team str iker Fashion S akala says Chipolopolo coach Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic will tr ansform the Chipolopolo to a better team with his approach to the management of the game.

Sakala, who features for KV Ostende in B elgium said “Micho” is focused to not only build a workable tactical plan but also winning over his squad ahead of important assignments for the Chipolopolo.

The for mer Z anaco striker said in an interview that “Micho” would change the face of Z ambian football with his tactical plans which saw the Chipolopolo come fr om behind to beat South Africa 2-1 on Sunday. “Personally, I hav ea very good relationship with the coach, we always talk. He used to call me weekly and tell me about the tactics and ho w he wants me to play which is very good and perfect for me. When I came here I knew what I am supposed to do, that was very good.” “He is a very good man and will change Zambian football. I think it will be a very good team,” Sakala said.

“If we continue like this, we will hav e 90 per cent chance of beco ming a better team and looking at what we are doing now, tactically we ar e getting better and there is togetherness in the team. I think we have a chance to beat Botswana in the two games,” he said. Meanwhile S akala urged “Micho” to remain strong in the face of critics who may derail his work with the team.

“Micho” was cr iticised after Zambia struggled to beat Malawi 1-0 befor e losing 2-1 to K enya last Friday and S akala said criticism should motivate the team to win games. “Looking at the cr iticism that is going on, it is normal in football, it is not all the people who will be happy with the team, and it is not all the people who will be happ y with the coach and the players. Blame will be coming to the players and coaches,” Sakala said.
