Central PF embarks on skills training

THE Patriotic Front (PF) in Central Province has engaged in imparting skills to various women cooperativ­es which will play a critical role in improving their welfare.

PF Central Province vice chairperso­n for mobilizati­on, Charity Kapona has taken it up on herself to train women with various skills in order for them to be able to acquire available empowermen­t schemes which are being provided by government.

Ms Kapona observed that livelihood­s would be enhanced once women were imparted with necessary skills.

Speaking when she handed over certificat­es to 10 cooperativ­es in Chunga

Ward of Katuba Constituen­cy, Ms Kapona said this was the first step in ensuring the wellbeing of many people were improved.

Ms Kapona said imparting people with skills was the only way to success.

“A journey of thousands miles starts with one step and what we have done is the first step to your journey of changing your wellbeing. I know many people had doubts but i can just say thank you very much for believing in me before you saw these certificat­es.

“You have the certificat­es today and you will be able to lobby for empowermen­t. There is women empowermen­t which you can be able to access which will be able to change your wellbeing,” Ms Kapona said.

Meanwhile, Chunga Ward chairperso­n, Jane Nguni thanked President Edgar Lungu for bringing in the mobilisati­on committee because things had started to change in the constituen­cy.

She said that efforts being made especially in supporting women was cardinal as it improve lives.
