Zambian delegation targets DRC trade deals
A delegation of Zambians arrived in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) for a two-day trade mission in which business deals are expected to be clinched
The mission is aimed at exploring business opportunities in the vast neighbouring country in sectors such as agriculture, mining, trade and commerce and manufacturing.
North-Western Chamber of Commerce, Trade and Industry is leading the trade team with some companies from the Copperbelt, Lusaka joining the North-Western province team.
During its two day stay in that country, the delegation
would tour mining operations, open trade areas like markets, chain stores among others in Lubumbashi.
Chamber President, Mukumbi Kafuta, urged members of the delegation to take advantage of the trip and tap into the DRC market.
He told the delegation upon arrival that DRC has a huge market for Zambian products, hence the need to tap into the vast market.
The delegation would also be privileged to have trade business talks with various authorities as well as the business community in Lubumbashi.
"As you may be aware, this trip is basically to tap into the DRC market in various sectors because most of these sectors are open," he told the delegation.
Lusaka Chamber of Commerce vice-president, Edgar Chibuye, advised the delegation to follow all the regulations put in place by authorities in that country.
"We have to follow their culture, what they believe in," he said.
