‘MICHO’ PROUD OF HIS TROOPS
ZAMBIA national team coach Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic said he is proud of the strides made by the Chipolopolo after they came from behind twice to beat Ethiopia
3-2 in Addis Ababa on Thursday.
“Micho” said his charges respected the Chipolopolo jersey and fought hard to beat Ethiopia on their home soil thanks to a second half brace from Zanaco FC young star Albert Kangwanda.
“I am extremely proud that as a technical team we have done seven tactical changes and formations where players have listened to everything and as a reward, we got those two goals because we insisted, risked and respected the jersey for Zambia and we have won the game,” said “Micho” shortly after the full-time whistle.
The Serb hailed the young Kangwanda who is on loan at Zanaco FC from Kafue Celtics, for making a huge difference by scoring a brace to win the game for Zambia.
“Special credit to the team and once more we have shown that players that are coming inside are making the difference. I am especially happy about the rookie of a player and debutant Albert Kangwanda. Scoring the two goals and winning the match for Zambia; I feel extremely happy for that because this is how you get new players in the national team setup,” said “Micho.”
“Micho” however noted that the team need to keep
the momentum and keep it tight at the back to improve and score much more.
He said it is unacceptable that the Chipolopolo only kept a clean sheet in one match which was a 1-0 home win against Malawi on October 8.
Meanwhile, Zambia is today scheduled to play South Sudan and “Micho” has hinted that he would make a lot of changes for all the players to be mentally strong and physically fit.
