Be cautious when they throw stones at you

- Dear Editor

GREETINGS my friends,

Be very cautious when many throw stones at a mango tree, yet stop you from throwing a stone, claiming the bird they were aiming at has flown away; it's not a bird they were targeting, it is the mangoes they don't want you to see.

Those who seek to hide the mangoes, don't know how hungry you are, how even just a single mango can help you, how after hiding the mango you will suffer.

As the old adage goes:

"Man is not what he thinks he is, he is what he hides."

During our Independence celebrations on Saturday, I had time to seriously reflect. What mangoes did the White Colonists hide from our forefathers? Further, what mangoes are the current betrayers of our forefathers hiding?

Many are the issues in our country and after hours of sleepless reflection, I have decided to edify you all my friends; one at a time.

Some will insult me, observe them. Some will gang up against me, observe them. Some will twist my words, observe them. Some will openly fight me, observe them. Observe them because they will be seeking to hide the mangoes.

In our current situation, I will start with the seemingly "Elephant in the Room." The infamous Bill 10. What mangoes are being hidden in Bill 10? Why do you have to be cautious with those who are claiming the bird has flown away from Bill 10?

These are the benefits of Bill 10, these are the deliverables in it. These are the mangoes in it. These are the mangoes, they wish to hide. These are the mangoes they will not succeed in hiding from you, because I am resolved, I am energised, I am prepared, I am refreshed to fight that you get those mangoes due to you. You will eat them, this I promise.

So what are these mangoes in Bill 10? What are these mangoes that President Edgar Lungu and his team wants us to eat. What are the mangoes I want you to stone for in Bill 10. Here we go:

1) Bill 10 will make sure that as a country we reaffirm our character as a Nation is that of Christian. All other religions are welcome but as a Nation we will be under the servitude of our Lord Jesus Christ. Which bird has flown away?

"For Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance."

2) Bill 10 seeks to revise the principles and values of our Constitution. And by expansion our values as a people, it's time for us to be forthright with one another. It's time our values as a country are enriched in our Constitution. Which bird has flown away?

3) Bill 10 seeks to revise the Electoral system for elections to the National Assembly. We need to delimitate our constituencies for enhanced and improved lobbying system. Some constituencies are huge my friends, it's a struggle for a single representative. Which bird has flow away?

Let me end here for now on these three points, to be continued next week!

But suffice to say, I SUPPORT BILL 10!!! It has mangoes, and I will not hide them from you. Till next week.

Ask your Representative why he wants to hide your mangoes, if he opposes BILL 10!!!

Have a blessed week my friends.

ALEXANDER CHITEME, MP and productive
