Mwila preaches love, peace ahead of 2021 general elections
PATRIOTIC Front Secretary-General Davies Mwila has observed that lack of love among Zambians had led to political violence witnessed in the recent past.
And the Catholic Church has assured President Edgar Lungu's administration of continued partnership and support.
Mr Mwila said there was a need for the church and all Zambians to preach love as the country nears the election year.
He was speaking on Sunday at the priestly ordination ceremony by Rt. Rev. Benjamin Phiri, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Ndola at St.
Anthony of Padua Parish in
Ndola,
Mr Mwila said the PF will continue working with the church and offer support as a party and Government, adding that the two were partners in development.
And Bishop Phiri, Bishop echoed Mr Mwila's call for love.
"I am happy that the PF SG is assuring us of his party's commitment to peace and love, justice and fair play and as a church, we will continue to pray for you as our leaders but you should also pray for yourselves," said a jovial Bishop Phiri.
Meanwhile, Fr. Ferena Lambe, Conventual Franciscan Minister Provincial for Zambia and Malawi also said the church believed in cooperation.
