‘Auto’ whitewash Kafue Saints

PREMIER Futsal League (PFL) defending champions Lusaka Automotive maintained a three-point lead at the summit of the 10-team PFL table after whitewashi­ng Kafue Saints 13-0 in a week-9 fixture played on Saturday at Automotive Futsal Arena in Lusaka.

Lusaka Automotive remained unbeaten since the league commenced in September and the win over Saints propelled the Andrea Christofor­etti-drilled side to 27 points, three points ahead of second-placed Kabwe K-Line who edged Monze George 5-4.

Third-placed DC Isoka recorded a shocking 3-2 defeat to Chipata Boys who finished the first round of the PFL on fifth position with 15 points on par with Kitwe Kitwe Bullets who edged Livingston­e Pirates 3-2 as well.

It was Pirates sixth defeat which relegated them to eighth on the league table with nine points from three wins.

In other PFL fixtures, struggling CSS Petauke collected their first point of the season after holding Siavonga Beetles 4-4 at Auto Futsal Arena.

Meanwhile in the Division One League, unbeaten Zanaco claimed leadership after beating Efford Chabala 11-3 to move to 25 points, one point ahead of second-placed Pioneer Avengers who were handed their first defeat by BS Stars.

Stars overcame Avengers 8-6 in a tightly contested fixture while third-placed DS Academy humiliated Blue Bombers 28-0.

Lilanda Bullets welcomed Mthunzi FC 29-2 to maintain fourth position with 18 points Tamanga Juldan were 5-3 victors over Bil FC.
