School in building materials galore

- By ROGERS KALERO

MWEKERA Combined School in Kitwe has received building material including 1, 500 blocks,

100 pockets of cement and building sand.

The institution, which is in Kamfinsa constituency, has embarked on a school extension project and would build a block of three classrooms.

About 35 tonnes of stones were also donated.

Patriotic Front Kamfinsa parliamentary aspiring candidate, Kelvin Chipili, donated the material, which he said would be delivered soon to quicken the construction of the classroom block.

Mr Chipili observed that the project had delayed for some time and urged the parents and guardians to support him in his endeavour to serve the community.

He said he would continue to work with the community in various projects he was carrying out in the constituency because he had respect for everyone.

"For me to succeed in whatever am doing, I need to humble myself and work with the people in the constituency. I will not be disrespectful to the people neither am I going to be greedy and selfish, but I will work with the communities in various projects.

"I have decided that I should make a contribution of 1, 500 blocks, 35 tonnes of stones, 40 tonnes of building sand and 100 pockets of cement towards the construction of a 1 x 3 classroom block at Mwekera combined school which has delayed for a long time," Mr Chipili said.

He said those who were involved in the illegal sale of land were now seeking to become Members of Parliament (MPs) to continue pursuing their personal and selfish interests.

"I would like to urge the people of Kamfinsa constituency to open their eyes and ears and ensure that they do not fall prey to the lies of crooked characters who have no regard for them, but only want to use their vote to get into parliament. A person with no regard and respect for other people does not deserve to be in public office,” Mr Chipili said.
