Ignore baseless attacks, govt leaders urged

- SMARTEAGLES2020

THE Traditional Leadership in Lundazi District of Eastern Province has encouraged government to ignore baseless attacks from the opposition.

Senior Chief Mwase of the Chewa people and Chief Mpamba of the Tumbuka people have indicated that government has performed well in the delivery of farm inputs and the opposition have nothing to talk about hence the attacks .

“Ignore that! that’s not politics, it’s the mandate of government to deliver developmental projects. It’s mere propaganda. For the opposition to be saying that, it’s propaganda because they have no reason to discredit government,” said Chief Mpamba.

And Senior Chief Mwase said the district is expected to have a bumper harvest next year and if that doesn’t happen government should not be blamed because it has already done its part.

“Farmers are happy, they received inputs I can confirm that and when the President came we mentioned that to him . We expect a bumper harvest in Lundazi and if we fail it’s not government it’s us,” Chief Mwase said. Lundazi District Commissioner Janet Sakala announced that close to 11000 farmers have received inputs in the district.

This was after NERIA’S Investments Limited General Manager Mr. Martin Chaikatisha paid a courtesy call on her and the two traditional leaders.

Meanwhile Mr. Chaikatisha indicated that the Farmers Input Support Program (FISP) critics have been shamed because what government has been advocating for is happening.
