President Lungu confers with Egyptian delegation

PREISDENT Edgar Lungu has called for more investment­s between Zambia and Egypt in various sectors of the economy.

Speaking when he received a high profile delegation from Egypt yesterday, President Lungu said, Zambia was looking forward to more collaborat­ion with Egyptian government in areas such as fisheries and agricultur­e.

President Lungu told the delegation that the country’s 7NDP focuses on diversific­ation of the economy and job creation which entails investment in various sectors.

The Head of State expressed confidence that successful deliberati­ons between the two countries would result in investment­s being set up for the mutual benefit of the two countries.

President Lungu said Zambia is committed to enhancing relations with Egypt in cultural, social and economic sectors.

He said the country can benefit from Egypt’s success stories and that Zambia is in a hurry to develop its economy.

President Lungu said Zambia has identified a number of projects which it has been discussing with partners for possible investment and that these are aimed at improving the lives of the people.

And Head of delegation Ayman Badea said the visit is a continuati­on of talks which commenced following the visit of Foreign Affairs Minister Joseph Malanji to Egypt in November 2019.

Lieutenant Colonel Badea said the business delegation would like to implement mutually beneficial projects in Zambia based on the existing cordial relations between the two countries.

Meanwhile, Chairperso­n of the Businesspe­rsons Board Ayman Mohamed Refaat Abdou Elgamil explained that the delegation has already set up businesses in other African countries.
