Kapata calls for truce in PF

- By AARON CHIYANZO

THERE is need for all Patriotic Front members who are at loggerhead to put aside internal differences to face the 2021 elections as a united front, PF national chairperson for women Jean Kapata has said.

Ms Kapata said all suspensions should be lifted while those who defected to the opposition should be brought back so that the membership could double.

She said in an interview that politics was about the numbers and that it was proper for the party to enter an election year as one big family.

Ms Kapata, who is Lands and Natural Resources Minister, said facing 2021 with a united front would ensure easy victory for the party and President Edgar Lungu.

“Therefore, considering the time we are at, let me be hasten to state that, time has come and is now that we stop all internal differences and forge ahead in promoting peace and unity among the party officials. These are the remedies to a smooth victory for President Lungu next year,” she said.

Ms Kapata said there was need to work out a plan that would bring back all those that were removed from the structures, so that the numbers could be doubled.

And a PF official, Lemmy Bwaly,a urged the party leadership to consider broadening the size of the structures from the current 24 official executives to a 48 officials structure.

Mr Bwalya said broadening of structures would bring harmony, unity and love among members during intraparty elections.

“This simply means, we will have the current 24 executive structure as political wing and the one's booted out in an intra-party elections will come in as an administrative executive committee,” he said.

Mr Bwalya called on aggrieved members to forget about the past and work to market the party and President Lungu.
