‘UPND SHOULD EXPLAIN ALTERNATIVE PLAN’
THEopposition UPND leaders should not be emotional but must clearly explain how they will fix the economic challenges the country is facing today, Patriotic Front (PF) National mobilization Committee Chairperson Richard Musukwa has said
Mr Musukwa said, if UPND leaders are able to fix the country's economic challenges, they should stop insulting during public rallies and instead explain how they will solve the challenges.
In an interview after a rally in Chililabombwe, Mr Musukwa said any leader aspiring to form
''The problem colleagues in the with our opposition, especially the UPND is that they are so emotional and always resort to hate-speech and unpalatable language. These people have nothing to offer, but want to form government for their own selfish motives,'' Mr Musukwa said
Mr Musukwa also warned party members against issuing derogatory statements against the party and its leadership, but focus on mobilizing people ahead of the 2021 elections
He said President Edgar Lungu was the ruling party's candidate in the 2021 general elections and that the party should work hard to deliver a landslide victory
"We have done a lot in terms of infrastructure development and improving the living standards of people in various areas including in opposition strong holds. This will make the party win 2021 elections with a landslide, opposition should brace themselves to lose," he said.
Mr Musukwa urged residents in Chililabombwe to register as voters because it would give them the power to choose leaders of choice.
Meanwhile, residents of Chililabombwe are turning up in number at various registration centres to obtain their voters cards while calling on the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) to consider deploying more officers.
Moses Kalima who registered at Lubengele community hall said he had noticed the enthusiasm from people in the district willing to obtain voters cards.
He said in order for ECZ to capture all the eligible voters, it was imperative that more officers were deployed to registration centres.
Mr Musukwa on the other hand said he was happy with the speed by the officers and commended ECZ for working on the system.
Mr Musukwa, who is Mines Minister, said the high voter turnout would give the citizens an option to choose their own leaders of choice.
