Opposition leaders desperate for power, says Lufwanyama aspiring candidate

- By ROGERS KALERO

“SOME opposition leaders are desperate and want to form government at all costs in the 2021 elections because they want to form government and pursue the interests of foreign businesses where they have shares," Patriotic Front aspiring candidate for Lufwanyama constituency Don Mungulube has said.

Mr Mungulube said the opposition leaders have no desire to improve people's lives, but merely wanted to use them to ascend to power and dump them so that they can concentrate on serving their own personal interest

In an interview in Kitwe yesterday, Mr Mungulube said he was hoping that the people in the opposition stronghold would soon realise that some opposition leaders did not mean well for them and decide to join the ruling Patriotic Front.

"I have decided to aspire for Lufwanyama constituency so that If they vote for me I prove that the Patriotic Front is action oriented. Yes, action oriented than the opposition parties whose leaders have nothing to offer.

"In fact some of these opposition leaders are so desperate and want to form government at all costs so that they use it to pursue the interests of private businesses where they have shares. So we have to be careful as Zambians." Mr mungulube said.

Mr Mungulube urged the PF members and its leaders to get down and explain the economic challenges facing the country and what the government was doing to address them.

He said the opposition were busy trying to take advantage of the economic challenges facing the country for political mileage.

He said the opposition has no ability to improve people's lives, but were merely desperate to form government for their evil and selfish motives.

"These opposition politicians have waged a battle against President Edgar Lungu not because they want to remove him so that they form government and serve the interests of the people, but because they are doing it out of hatred for President Lungu.

"They are driven by hatred and bitterness. If they were genuine people with the interests of people at heart, they would have been discussing issues of promoting unity and economic recovery." he said.
