He said MQHZ is disappointed over the revelations that Ministry of Health allowed the distribution of substandard medical supplies across the country putting millions at great risk.

Mr Kangwa said taking substandard medicines can result in dangerous Health consequences.

He said substandard drugs, condoms, gloves and other medical supplies that failed to meet the inspection standards are posing a very serious health risks to all users and must be recalled immediately.

Mr Kangwa also called on the Zambia Medicine Regulatory Authority (ZAMRA) and Medical stores limited (MLS) to take their work serious and stop taking Zambian for granted.

He also urged all those people who used the substandard condoms and gloves to go for VCT and hepatitis B testing to guarantee their safety.

He said even amidst the second wave of COVID

19, government should take serious thought on the acceptance and use of controversial COVID 19 vaccine.

“This vaccine must be tested according to our Zambian standards so that we can assure the public of its safety and gain the confidence which has been lost due to these irregularity by the ministry of Health,” he said.
