Youths urged to be more creative

- By ANDREW MUKOMA

PATRIOTIC Front (PF) aspirant for Livingstone Constituency, Mutinta Matimba, has called on the youth to be innovative and creative during thus COVID-19 period to sustain development.

She said businesses were no longer flourishing due to the impact of the pandemic, making it necessary for the young people to think outside the box.

According to the aspiring candidate, youths should venture into productive activities that would make them become more relevant in society even in the face of the ravaging pandemic.

Ms Matimba said the future belongs to the youth, the reason why they needed to acquire skills and knowledge to realise their potential.

“I believe the future belongs to young people who should prepare for it. If a young person fails to prepare for the future, he would not be unable to realise his full potential,” he said.

Ms Matimba therefore said there was need to create awareness for the youth to build their capacity to become responsible citizens and effective future leaders.

She said that the PF Government has already provided an enabling environment which accords youths an opportunity to venture into various business activities without depending on formal employment.

Ms Matimba was speaking during a meeting with a group of youth at Roadside in Livingstone at the weekend.

She urged the youth to explore the various skills and training opportunities for their development and refuse to be used in violent campaigns in this year’s general elections.
