‘PF must tick off cheap propaganda’

- By ROGERS KALERO

THE Patriotic Front (PF) must work out an effective way of ticking of cheap propaganda from the opposition and explain clearly the Government development agenda, Chimwemwe constituency PF aspiring candidate Allen Banda has said.

Mr Banda said the opposition has no plan for the nation, but wanted to form government to pursue narrow interests, including giving away national assets like mines.

He was speaking in an interview in Kitwe yesterday.

Mr Banda said Zambians should give President Edgar Lungu another term on this year’s election because he had demonstrated his desire to address the challenges the mining industry.

He said while some opposition parties were supporting the exploitative and selfish investors to continue running Konkola Copper Mine (KCM), President Lungu decided to repossess the mine after Vedanta Resources ran it down.

“Yes, the country is facing a number of economic challenges which are not self-inflicted, but we are feeling them because they are global problems. So we should not allow the opposition to tell lies about them and gain political mileage out of such things.

“Some of these opposition parties have no solutions to the challenges the country is facing, but they are merely doing politics.

If Zambians decide to put them in government, then we will regret big time because they will not serve the interests of Zambians,” Mr Banda said.

Mr Banda said PF members and leaders especially at the grassroot level must be alert and ensure that Zambians were not misled.

He also cautioned Zambians to look at the capacity of aspiring for the position of Members of Parliament and the behaviour of those seeking to be Republican President.
