Lungu lauds Zambia, Egypt ties
PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has praised Egypt's contribution towards achieving social development and economic growth in African countries.
And President Lungu has lauded the relationship which Zambia and Egypt enjoy, saying it has translated into economic development that has benefited citizens from the two countries.
The President said bilateral relationship between the two countries has demonstrated cooperation in many areas of mutual interest.
“This is the way how cooperation should be that translated into people benefits and not leaders,” President Lungu said.
President Lungu said this when outgoing Egyptian Ambassador to Zambia, Ahmed Mostafa, paid a courtesy call on him at State House yesterday.
The Head of State reiterated the call for African Leaders to provide leadership to grow the African continent without depending on the outside world.
President Lungu praised Mr Mostafa’s immense contribution to the strengthened relationship between Zambia and Egypt.
“You worked very well with us in Zambia and I wish you well and pass my greetings to President of Egypt Abdel Fattah al-Sisi,” President Lungu said.
And Mr Mostafa commended the contin
uous development of the bilateral relations between the two countries.
“Mr President, from the time I came to Zambia three years ago, the leadership you have provided to this country will result in prosperity of Zambia in many areas,"he said.
Trade exchange between Egypt and Zambia reached more than $250 million during 2019, according to the Ministry of commerce and the two countries have strengthened partnership between the private sectors
