KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF KCM, HH ADVISED

- By OLIVER SAMBOKO

UPNDpresident, Hakainde Hichilema, should stop casting insinuations that PF is ripping off KCM to its benefit without providing evidence, PF member Chrisantius Changwereza has said.

On Wednesday, Mr Hichilema objected to the split of KCM into two separate entities and also claimed that PF has turned the mining company into a cash cow for cadres and some senior Government officials.

Reacting to the insinuation, Mr Changwereza said it was wrong for the opposition leader to continue misleading Zambians when he was we aware of the many problems caused by Vedanta Resources at the Mine.

"Mr Hichilema should be sincere in his statements, especially on the KCM issue. Let him not pretend that he is not aware that the mine was almost plunged to the ground, save for Government's quick intervention," he said.

He said it not fair for Mr Hichilema and his party to always cast negative aspersion on the PF expedient.

Zambians, he said, were not dull to believe the propaganda from the opposition leader.

Mr Changwereza said Mr Hichilema should also stop misleading miners at KCM that once the entity was split, they would be declared redundant and lose their terminal benefits.

He said such careless statements had the potential to cause anxiety among miners and also amounted to inciting the affected workers to turn against Government. for political

Mr Changwereza said as far as Zambians were concerned the action by Government to place KCM on liquidation was done in the best interest of country.
