TRUANT PF LEADERS FACE CHOP
PATRIOTIC FRONT party leaders who are underperforming and preoccupied with personal issues at the expensive of party operations will be axed from their positions, National Chairperson Samuel Mukupa has said.
Mr Mukupa said people who had been given positions in the party can do their personal businesses but should ensure that operations in the party were not negatively affected.
He also said underperforming leaders could not continue to hold on to the positions when there were others who couldbdo better for the party.
Mr Mukupa in an interview yesterday that when people were given positions in the party they needed to contribute massively to its growth.
“Of course when you join a political party you are just a volunteer aiming at taking it to the higher level. Someone can be a businessman, a farmer or any other person can join a political party but even when you join as a volunteer you need to help to grow it.
"You are even supposed to support financially in order to improve its financial machinery. Especially when you are given a position you even need to be more active.
“But when you are given the position then you become preoccupied with your personal things then you need to depart because you are not helping the party in anyway. Leaders need to be very active so that even other party members can be motivated in growing the party,” Mr Mukupa said.
He was reacting to claims by a PF member Innocent Kalimashi who said that the party was full of businessmen and bosses who were not helping President Edgar Lungu to actualise development.
Mr Kalimashi said President Lungu was alone delivering development without the help of other leaders in the party.
He said some Members of Parliament cannot pin-point any development they had initiated because all projects were initiated by Mr Lungu.
