LUSAKA PROVINCE PF LIFTS SUSPENSIONS
THELusaka Province Patriotic Front (PF) committee has directed all district chairmen to lift the suspensions of all erring members so as to level the playing field for the pending provincial elections.
Lusaka province PF chairman, Paul Moonga said this in reaction to some members calling for the lifting of suspension of erring members.
Mr Moonga said the district organs had been directed to lift suspensions to level the playing field.
He said his office had already written to all district chairpersons directing them to lift the suspensions of all members who were serving suspensions.
He also refuted claims by some party members in Lusaka who were suggesting that his committee had preferred candidates for the positions to be contested at the forthcoming provincial elections.
Mr Moonga said the PF has never at any given time abrogated democracy by endorsing individual candidates in intra-party elections and guided that no one should therefore go round campaigning on the pretext that they are the preferred candidate as doing this would be undemocratic.
He warned that those using the name of President Lungu, claiming that he has endorsed them risked disciplinary action as this would be tantamount to indiscipline.
He stated that the President has never endorsed individuals in intra-party elections because he was the father and leader of all party members.
he also reminded candidates not to form line-ups of who they would work with if elected into office and advised those wanting to stand to campaign as individuals and be ready to work with anyone who would be elected into office.
Mr.
Moonga also advised Members of the Central Committee (MCC) not to endorse any candidate as this would be undemocratic.
“I advise all MCCs to be neutral because they would be causing confusion if they meddle into Intra party politics at provincial level. I cannot also have a preferred candidate as MCC,” he said.
He also disclosed that the date for the provincial elections in Lusaka was not yet set and as such those campaigning must be cautious.
