`Mukuni is an embarrassment’

…He is sponsored by the coward UPND leadership - PF

SENIOR Chief Mukuni should have some self-respect as he has embarrassed himself enough with his hatred for President Lungu and continued hallucinations over the August elections, the Patriotic Front has said.

And the PF says Zambians should ignore the rantings against President Edgar Lungu by Senior Chief Mukuni who is sponsored by the cowardly UPND leadership.

PF Lusaka Province secretary, Kennedy Kamba said Senior Chief Mukuni is used by the opposition UPND leadership that is scared to face President Lungu in the August polls.

Mr Kamba was reacting to claims by Senior Chief Mukuni that the constitution does not allow President Lungu to contest the August polls because he had served two terms.

The traditional leader was yesterday quoted in one of the tabloids as saying it was unconstitutional for President Lungu to contest this year Presidential elections. But Mr Kamba took a swipe at Senior Chief Mukuni describing him as a bitter tribalist and mere UPND cadre who has hatred for the Head of State.

He said it was saddening that for a very long time now, Senior Chief Mukuni has continued to issue unwarranted remarks against President Lungu, calling him all sorts of names and trying to paint him black before the right thinking members of the public.

And PF media director Sunday Chanda said Senior Chief Mukuni was being sponsored by little men and women who are scared of President Edgar Lungus candidature in the coming general elections. He said the party is sure that the President qualifies to standing according to the constitution of Zambia.

Mr Chanda advised the traditional leader to challenge the President in the courts of law instead of misinforming the people. He said that as far as the party is concerned, the matter is done and dusted by the constitution court.

The media director said that the party will continue with his developmental agenda for the people of Zambia.

“As a party we will not be moved by people with misplaced agenda aimed bringing confusion in the country.

“Chief Mukuni is being sponsored by men and women who are scared of President Edgar Lungu.

“As far as we are concerned President Lungu qualifies to stand according to the constitution of Zambia and nothing will stand on his way, “he said.
