NDC members flocking to PF, says GBM

…following confusion that has rocked their party

- By SILUMESI MALUMO

THERE has been a mass exodus of National Democratic Congress (NDC) officials countrywide to the ruling party after confusion heightened in the opposition party, Patriotic Front (PF) national vice chairperson for mobilisation Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba has said.

Mr Mwamba said hundreds of NDC officials have been engaging him and other PF officials for them to join the party.

He said in an interview yesterday that a number of NDC officials were frustrated with the happenings in the party and have realised that it will not go anywhere.

Mr Mwamba said the NDC officials do not want to hold on to the party which has clueless leaders.

The infighting, he said, was an advantage to the PF because members of the NDC were now willing to work with the ruling party.

"They have been calling me trying to reason so that they can join the party that has a vision for the country. They have seen that there is nothing to labour for because the leadership is not taking the party anywhere.

"For us as PF we shall welcome these gallant men and women from the NDC because this will help us to have numbers as we are going towards elections," Mr Mwamba said.

Mr Mwamba said the team mandated to mobilise the party would ensure that all the NDC members countrywide who want to join the PF were brought on board.

"This is what I have been saying all along that PF is the only party that has leadership with direction. We have not had infights were you even start reporting yourselves to law enforcement agencies.

“So what is happening now in the NDC shows that it is not going anywhere, this is the end and for us we shall welcome members with open arms," Mr Mwamba said.
