PF aspiring candidate donates food in Chasefu

- BY SIMON MUNTEMBA

ASPIRING candidate for Chasefu constituency, Chanoda Ngwira, has donated 3,000 bags of mealie meal worth over K300, 000 to a group of vulnerable persons.

Mr Ngwira, who is seeking adoption on the PF ticket, donated the mealie meal to persons living with disability, aged, widows and widowers in the constituency.

He said in an interview with the Daily Nation that he wanted to supplement Government’s efforts, hence the donation to the needy in the constituency.

Mr Ngwira said he would be flagging off the distribution of the commodity which has already been delivered in the constituency to the 10 wards next week.

“I have decided to make this donation to supplement Government's efforts in helping vulnerable women and men, widows, widowers, the old aged and the differently abled across the 10 wards.

“I am flagging off the distribution to the 10 wards next week because Government through DMMU is already on the ground helping the needy with the same throughout this week and part of next week,” Mr Ngwira said.

Mr Ngwira said he has over the few weeks donated similar items to the PF structures in the constituency as a way of encouraging them to continue mobilising the members.

“I made similar donations last week as a way of appreciating pf structures. As you may be aware, structures are key when it comes to party mobilisation, hence the need to come in for them as and where possible.

“AS we were welcomed as aspiring candidates on PF ticket by the District officials, some Constituency officials and ward Chairmen, I took an opportunity to donate to each of them 2 bags of mealie meal just to encourage them to continue with their good works,” he said.
