Chongo, Chama return

…as Micho names 33 ‘bullets’ for AFCON qualifiers

- By MICHAEL MIYOBA

Despite having been impressive in the FAZ Super Division, top scorer Rodger Kola has missed out on the provisional squad.

Also missing in the team is 2012 AFCON Golden boot winner Emmanuel Mayuka who has helped Napsa Stars to storm the CAF Confederations Cup group stages.

Experienced goal keeper, Kennedy Mweene who vowed to never play for the national team until the Andrew Kamanga-led FAZ executive puts things in order has also been snubbed while young stars in Golden Mafwenta and Zachareah Chilongoshi have made the cut.

Fashion Sakala and the Red Bull Salzburg duo of Enock Mwepu and Patson Daka are joined by the Kangwa brothers, Evans and Kings who play for Arsenal Tula in the Russian league.

Zambia will play Algeria on March 25 before taking on Algeria in their final Group H AFCON Qualifier slated for March 29 in Lusaka.

The Chipolopolo are fourth in Group H with three points and must win the last two games against Zimbabwe and Algeria to break the jinx of failing to qualify for the AFCON after missing the last two editions.
