PF general conference set for April 10-11

(PF) will hold its general conference from April 10 to April 11 where over 2, 300 delegates are expected to attend virtually and Kelvin Bwalya Fube will not be part of the delegates because he is not our member, PF SecretaryG­eneral Davis Mwila has announced.

Mr Mwila said all positions, including that of the PF president were open for contestati­on.

He told journalist­s in Lusaka yesterday that the PF central committee had resolved that the general conference be held virtually to avoid the spread of Covid-19.

Asked if Mr Bwalya popularly known as KBF will be part of the delegates since he insists to be a member, Mr Mwila said, “as far as we are concerned, KBF was expelled a long time ago, he is not our member and therefore, he is not among the over 2, 300 delegates who will attend the general conference.”

Meanwhile, Mr Mwila has also announced that the Lusaka provincial conference will be held this Thursday at Mulungushi Internatio­nal Conference Centre.

GOVERNMENT has implored the private sector to plough back into communitie­s they operate from.

Southern Province Permanent Secretary, Joyce Bwacha, said the government would continue reminding the private sectors that they were duty bound to assist communitie­s in which they operate.

In view of this, Ms Bwacha said that the provincial administra­tion was looking forward to a day when all players in the private sector would put in as much into community as

Ms Bwacha thanked the IHS Towers Zambia for responding positively to the request for assistance.

At the same event, IHS Towers Zambia Communicat­ion and Sustainabi­lity Manager Sonile Lintwi said one of the most pressing needs in Zambia were materials to help the Covid-19 pandemic particular­ly PPE for frontline medical staff.
