CBU honours Power Tools owner with PhD

DEGREES which are bestowed on graduands must be used to make a significan­t contributi­on to uplifting the welfare of the communitie­s, Power Tools Proprietor Mbachi Nkwazi has said.

He said degrees were keys to many doors and it was important that they were used to contribute to the improvemen­t of people’s lives and inspire others, especially the young students pursuing various programmes.

He was speaking yesterday when the Copperbelt University (CBU) bestowed him with a honorary doctorate during the 29th graduation ceremony held at Levy Mwanawasa stadium in Ndola

“I genuinely believe that the degrees that have been bestowed on us today are key to so many doors . I also believe that with these keys, we can make a significan­t contributi­on to uplifting the welfare of our communitie­s make young students see fresh hope

“The Honorary Doctorate you have bestowed on me has just given me another opportunit­y to continue my associatio­n and contributi­on to the CBU, now as an Alumnus. I am truly honoured, humbled and grateful as I accept this award of Honorary Doctorate in Business Administra­tion of the CBU,’’ Dr Nkwazi said

Dr Nkwazi said he was happy to be associated with the CBU for his humble efforts to the institutio­n which has resulted in such an honor and recognitio­n

He thanked the Vice Chancellor and staff at CBU for taking time to look around and recognize his humble contributi­on to the university, business and the community at large.

“I thank you for seeing value in my contributi­on, more especially in the transport sector. I have long admired the excellent work carried by CBU and its outstandin­g growth and developmen­t from the days of Zambia Institute of Technology (ZIT)) to University of Zambia -Ndola campus(UNZANDO) to the CBU
