He said that Engie Energy Access aims to remain the thought leader in the provision of clean energy with a vision to serve millions of customers across Africa by 2025.

Mr Phiri said the company’s reach expands across Africa, serving over one million customers and impacting more than five million lives in African.

The company has its footprint in nine countries namely Uganda, Zambia, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Nigeria, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, and Mozambique.

“With the completion of this integration into

Engie Energy Access (EEA), we now have a platform to make an even greater impact through the synergies across the off-grid, pay-as-you-go (PAYGO), solar and mini- grid solutions spectrum.

“Through our products we have brought power into the homes of a humble Zambian, based in an off grid rural community who had previously had to rely on candles, and kerosene lamps as a source of energy. “These options as you know come with their own risk - household fires and domestic accidents. Our solar energy solution eliminates these risks and improves the quality of lives for our customers,” he said.

He said that because his file was serving the rural and low income households, its model has been easy and offers products on loan on pay as you go.
