CB parley seats are ours, declares UPND By
THEUPND is happy with the quality of its parliamentary candidates and is sure of scooping most of the seats in the August elections, Copperbelt provincial information and publicity secretary Lawrence mwanza has said.
He said the UPND was now set to get a landslide victory in the August elections because it had adopted quality candidate who were popular on the ground.
Mr Mwanza said the pomp and splendour which characterised the filing in of nomination papers for the 22 constituencies on the Copperbelt was a clear indication that the opposition party was now set to scoop most of the seats.
“The UPND on the Copperbelt has successfully managed to file in the nomination papers for all the 22 constituencies with the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) amid pomp, splendour and an avoidable desire for change of Government.
“The attendance at all nomination centres was characterized with huge but well managed and organized crowds. The environment was splashed with the display of the most sort after UPND ‘red colour’ for a party ready to form government,” Mr Mwanza said.
Mr Mwanza said it was an incident free nomination process except for Kalulushi constituency where two people presented themselves to file their nomination papers, a matter which was quickly resolved.
“The party is now geared up to get a landslide victory on the Copperbelt. We wish to assure the Zambian people that UPND is ready to form the next government come 12th August, 2021.
“Let us unite to rescue our country from the jaws of this uncaring regime. Zambia- Forward,” he said.
