PF has laid a foundation for women and youth empowerment pro- grammes to alleviate chal- lenges in communities, says PF Chimwemwe parliamen- tary candidate Allen Banda.

Mr Banda said if elected Chimwemwe MP, he would continue on his programme of empowering youths and women which he had start- ed before he was adopted to stand on the PF ticket.

He was speaking in an in- terview in Kitwe yesterday.

"It's not an issue of just tell- ing the people that vote out PF and replace them with us. It is an issue of proving the capac- ity to deliver. Most PF candi- dates have proved their capac- ity to deliver through various projects," he said.

He said UPND leaders must prove their capacity to deliver through empowering youths and women clubs in communities.

Mr Banda said the UPND should not promise 'Heaven on Earth ' if they form gov- ernment, but must show the people how they would turn Zambian into 'paradise' if they come into power

He said the party was trying opposition to ride on propaganda, falsehoods and fake promises to convince Zambians, but warned that such kind of campaign would not help them.

Mr Banda said because the PF government and its vari- ous candidates had realised that unemployment was glob- al problem and embarked on various empowerment proj- ects to mitigate the effects of the challenge.

He said regretted however that while the PF had em- barked on various empower- ment projects, UPND lead- ers were busy speaking ill of the leadership of President Edgar Lungu.

"If UPND and other oppo- sition leaders are genuine and quality leaders, they would have been talking about solu- tions to economic challenges and unemployment levels but because they are group of bitter and disgruntled indi- viduals, they don't talk about solution to the problems, but they want to use it as a cam- paign tool. "Some of the oppo- sition MPs who are promising employment and empower- ment to the people are also in needy of them. Sorry to say this, some of them have no capacity and you know what it means to vote for a person with no capacity to deliver de- velopment," Mr Banda said
