- By SANFROSSA MANYINDA

THE Patriotic Front (PF) on the Copperbelt has started the process of filling all casual vacancies in the respective party structures, mostly triggered members who opted to stand as independent candidates.

This follows the recent pronouncement by party Secretary General, Davies Mwila, that all officials that opted to go independent or openly decided to endorse independent candidates in this year's general election had expelled themselves.

On the Copperbelt over 30 members lost membership in the ruling party after the recent adoption process, which some people opted to stand as independent candidates.

The party provincial leadership has therefore advised the executive committees at district, constituency and ward levels to ensure that they follow the laid down procedure when filling in the casual positions.

PF Copperbelt Provincial acting Chairperson, Bernard Zulu, said filling of vacant ward positions, would be facilitated by the constituency committee upon the recommendation of the ward committee with priority given to loyal members of their respective wards.

"Where the vacancy is in the constituency committee, the position shall be filled by the district committee upon the recommendation of the constituency committee with priority given to loyal and committed members in respective constituencies," he said.

Mr Zulu added that the provincial executive committee would facilitate replacement in the district committees with priority given to loyal and committed members of their respective districts.
