Lungu hailed over FRA maize price

…as he calls for increased interactio­n with traditiona­l leaders.

SENIOR Chief Lwembe of the Nsenga people in Nyimba has hailed President Edgar Lungu's government for giving farmers a competitiv­e buying price of maize in the 2021 marketing season as announced by the Food Reserve Agency (FRA).

And several traditiona­l leaders in Eastern Province have hailed Government’s developmen­t projects implemente­d in their chiefdoms.

Meanwhile President Lungu has called for increased interactio­n between traditiona­l leaders and government to ensure developmen­t programmes are delivered on time to their subjects.

Senior Chief Lwembe said traditiona­l leaders in the area are excited over the maize price given by the government saying it shows commitment to improving agricultur­e.

Senior Chief Lwembe was speaking when President Lungu paid a courtesy call on three chiefs in the district - Chief Ndake and Chief Nyalugwe as well as himself yesterday.

Speaking on behalf of other traditiona­l leaders Senior Chief Lwembe said traditiona­l leaders are happy with developmen­tal projects such as a district hospital and various schools constructe­d in the area.

Meanwhile in another meeting with other traditiona­l leaders of Sinda, Chief Katumba said chiefs were happy with the various developmen­tal projects in the province.

The traditiona­l leaders includeed Chieftaine­ss Nyanje and Chief Katumba of the Nsenga and Chewa people.

Chief Katumba said his subject where happy about the early delivery of farming inputs which has improved farmer's harvest.
