I’LL BOOST WOMEN PROJECTS, SAYS TAIMA

- By JACKSON MAPAPAYI

SOLWEZI East PF parliamentary candidate Richard Taima says once elected, he will work towards revamping all women clubs in the constituency.

Mr Taima said he had realised that most of the women clubs in the area had gone into oblivion hence not benefitting from various government empowerment programs.

He said the past 10 years, none of the clubs had been funded due to lack of good leadership at parliamentary level.

“But going forward once elected into Parliament, I will ensure that all women and youths are revamped,” the PF candidate said.

Mr Taima said most women had become vulnerable due to lack of working capital hence the need to empower them.

He was speaking during the door-to-door campaigns in Mulonga, Musaka and Chikola wards ahead of the August 12 polls.

He said he would work towards increasing the number of beneficiaries for the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP), noting that the number was too small.

On feeder roads, Mr Taima assured the people that all the feeder roads would be worked in order to ease the movement of the people and goods.

He most of the people in the area were farmers whose market for their produce was Kipushi border hence the need to work on the roads.

“Already, Government has commenced works on Solwezi Kipushi road, now, going forward once elected working hand in hand with both the district and provincial administration, we will work on all feeder roads in the area so that we ease the movement of our farmers,” he said.
