‘HH was not in govt to have destroyed economy’

BOWMAN Lusambo should stop hallucinating that Hakainde Hichilema destroyed the Zambian economy because has he has never been in Government, UPND secretary-general Batuke Imenda has said.

Mr Imenda has questioned Mr Lusambo’s integrity over such allegations.

He was reacting to Mr Lusambo’s claims that Mr Hichilema destroyed the economy and left it in the intensive care unit before the PF took over.

In an interview, Mr Imenda said the former regime MMD left enough resources in government coffers, but when the PF took over power it mismanaged everything.

Mr Imenda said Mr Lusambo should be the right person to explain to the citizen why the economy was in a bad shape because he was a minister in the PF Government.

He said Mr Lusambo should not derive pleasure in accusing innocent people like Mr Hichilema because people were not happy in the manner the PF government had been running the affairs of the country.

Mr Imenda pointed out that once the UPND forms government after the August 12 general elections, Mr Hichilema would fix the economy.

“HH should never be implicated in the issues of Zambian economy because he has never been in government at all. Therefore, it is imperative that Lusambo can start implicating HH in issues of the economy,” Mr Imenda said.

But Mr Lusambo who is former Lusaka Province minister insisted that there was no economy that Mr Hichilema would fix because the PF government was already doing that.

Mr Lusambo said Mr Hichilema and his colleagues destroyed the economy of the country, but President Edgar Lungu and the PF government had been fixing the economy.

He said UPND leaders were jokers who always wanted to entertain Zambians while PF worked all the time.
