Mushindano needs more health posts - headman

- By JACKSON MAPAPAYI

A traditional leader in Mushindamo district has appealed to Government to put up a health post in his area for his subject to access health services closer to their door steps.

Headman Kapyololo of Kolibomomene area said people in his area walk long distances to access health services.

The traditional leader said that the most affected people were pregnant women and children, who found it difficult to cover long distances.

"The nearest clinic is Kamisengo which is over 20 kilometres. Now imagine when someone falls sick in the night, it becomes a challenge" he said.

He was speaking when Solwezi East PF parliamentary candidate Richard Taima called on him.

The traditional leader also called on Government to increase the number of the beneficiaries of the Farmer Input Support Program (FISP) in the area.

He said that only a few people in the area were benefitting from FISP.

In response, Mr Taima asked the traditional leader and his subjects to vote for President Edgar Lungu and all PF candidates.

Mr Taima said the area was lagging behind because people always voted for the opposition Members of Parliament and councillors, who were not willing to work with Government.

He said for the past 10 years, the people had been voting for the opposition who in turn had done nothing for them.

"This time around, support preside Lungu and all PF candidates and see if what the people won't be given to them," he said.
