Hichilema assures civil servants
PRESIDENT-Elect Hakainde Hichilema has assured Zambians that the civil service will be independent and professional once he is sworn in.
Mr. Hichilema says he will ensure that the Civil Service is independent, professional and well paid.
He says this will not only be done for public workers but also those in the Private sector to foster economic prosperity in the country.
The President Elect says his economic vision will bring the desired outcome for all Zambians once everyone in the public and private sector work together.
Mr. Hichilema said this in the afternoon when he held a meeting with Secretary to the Cabinet, Simon Miti, where he was briefed on several issues of national importance. He said that working together with every Zambian, the public workers and the private sector, his economic vision will definitely come to the desired outcome for all Zambians.
This is according to statement issued by the Press Secretary in the President Elect’s Office Brian Mwiinga.
Meanwhile China has congratulated President- elect Hakainde Hichilema on his election as 7th Republican President of Zambia.
Chinese Ambassador Li Jie congratulated President-Elect Hakainde Hichilema and said the long-standing friendship between China and Zambia has become a model of consolidating unity and friendship among developing countries.
He assured that the Chinese side will work with Zambia’s new government to lift bilateral cooperation in various fields to a new level, benefiting the two peoples preferably.
President-Elect Hakainde Hichilema appreciated congratulations from the Chinese side and said China is Zambia’s good friend and partner of all time.
He said the Zambian side wants to learn from China’s development experience and is willing to create a favorable environment for China-Zambia mutually beneficial cooperation. Zambia welcomes continuous and active contribution from the Chinese side to Zambia’s economic development and livelihood improvement.
The two sides also exchanged views on cooperation including tourism, infrastructure, human resources, and industrial parks.
