THE English Premier League duo of Patson Daka and Enock Mwepu has called on Chipolopolo fans to believe that the team is capable of qualifying for a World Cup tournament.

Mwepu, who features for EPL outfit Brighton and Hove Albion said the Chipolopolo needs fans to believe in them to deliver positive results.

He was speaking in an interview after joining the team camped in Morocco ahead of Friday’s Qatar 2022 FIFA world Cup qualifier against Mauritania,

Mwepu said Zambia has capabe players who can take the team to any tournament despite having failed to qualify for the Afcon.

“Fans always want a win and the only gift we can give them is a win. We know we have disappointed them in so many games in the past. We didn’t make it to the Africa Cup and they want that and Zambia is a team capable of doing that because we have players who are capable of doing that so for me I just say that fans should just be patient and have faith in the team because we need that belief in us.

Mwepu who has made two appearances for Brighton said his experience playing in England will inspire the team to work hard to achieve their dreams.

He said his dream is to make

lot of appearances in the

EPL to make the country more proud because it has been every player and every Zambian’s dream to see Zambians playing in the EPL.

Meanwhile, Daka who features for Leicester City FC said playing in the EPL should inspire Zambian boys to believe that with hard work and consistency anything is possible.

Daka said he has been fortunate enough to be signed by an English team not because he is the best but because of the dedication and hard work.
