UPND govt must fulfil all promises - Nkomeshya

- By JOHN KOMBE

SENIOR Chieftainess Nkomeshya has appealed to the UPND government to fulfil its campaign promises and actualise the slogan of “without leaving anyone behind.”

She observed that many youths and citizens voted for the UPND because they felt left out of many government programmes such as youth empowerment under the previous PF administration

The traditional leader made the call during the official opening of Choppies supermarket store in Chongwe yesterday.

She therefore urged the UPND government to make the “without leaving anyone behind” slogan a reality for all.

Senior Chieftainess Nkomeshya said that she would closely monitor government to ensure that promises were fulfilled.

“The UPND government made a number of promises to our subjects and as a traditional leader I will monitor to see that these promises are fulfilled.

“The protest vote was as a result of general dissatisfaction with the way things were being done. We expect change and everyone must be taken on board without leaving anyone behind,” she said.

She also appealed to Choppies Supermarket management to ensure that local people were employed in their store.

Senior Chieftainess Nkomeshya said that such investments must first benefit the local people before the benefits trickle to other areas.

She bemoaned the high level of unemployment in the area and urged investors to consider the local youths as they hire labour.
