LIES, CADRES COST PF, SAYS KANTANSHI MP

- By ROGERS KALERO

LIES against the Patriotic Front leaders and the conduct of the party cadres led to the party losing the August elections including, PF Kantanshi Member of Parliament (MP) Anthony Mumba has said.

Mr Mumba said the members of the international community like the United States, the European Union (EU) also did not like the stance President Lungu had taken on certain issues.

“But God has a way of doing things and so he gave chance to the UPND government which seems to be waffling from the time it came into government. Today, the President Hichilema says we inherited empty coffers, the following day, he assures the creditors that he will pay them.

“On BBC interview, he says you will see the Bank Governor I will appoint and today, he had not appointed a cabinet. The President needs to be consistent on his statements. He should also have a written speech so that we can hold him start said’

Mr Mumba said he was surprised that the 54 constituencies which the UPND had petitioned were being driven by the party secretariat.

He said the candidates were not petitioning the results because they knew that they genuinely lost the elections.

“The UPND has petitioned 54 constituencies and the thing which am surprised about is that the petitions are being driven by the party secretariat without the losing candidate knowing. One wonders what the motive for such action is,” Mr Mumba said

He said politics was not a fight but was competition about who was able to provide quality leadership and improve people’s lives’

Mr Mumba said it was sad that some politicians had resorted to witch-hunting, rumour mongering and propaganda in order to discredit their political rivals.

“We have a situation where accountable. He should writing speeches,” he the UPND did a will calculated to discredit some PF ministers calling them corrupt and all sorts of names. I blame the same ministers for not taking up the matter to court so that those accusing them could prove their allegations.

“For me, i am told one councilor is telling the people that the Mokambo road has taken long to finish because I eat the money from the same project. I will pursue this councilor so that he proves his allegations levelled against me or else be will pay dearly . We need to put this nonsense to an end where people who are drunk with beer bought by other people can start telling lies about other people,” he said.

And Mr Mumba said he would not accept an offer for a ministerial position from the UPND because it has enough party members and I do not even understand the ruling party’s manifesto.

Mr Mumba said in Mufulira that he would respect President Hakainde Hichilema, but would not accept a ministerial position because it was to

focus on rebounding PF and serving people in the constituency.

He was speaking at the weekend during a programme on Mufken radio station.

“No, I can’t and I will not take a ministerial position because the President has many UPND members who are itching to get ministerial positions. You can even see the frustrations on the faces of some UPND MPs because President Hichilema has taken long to make a cabinet.

“For me, I have the party to rebrand and the other reason why I can’t take a ministerial position from President Hichilema is that I don’t even understand the UPND manifesto, “Mr Mumba said.
