DCs sent on forced leave
DISTRICT Commissioners have been sent on forced annual leave for 30 days with immediate effect.
According to a circular released by Secretary to the Cabinet Simon Miti all District Commissioners have been directed to vacate office for 30 days during which provincial administrative officers would act as DC’s.
‘’In this regard, the district administrative officer will act as District Commissioner for administrative purposes during this period that the District Commissioners will be on leave,’’ he said.
Dr Miti said in instances where a person is acting as DC with or without a view of being promoted they would continue to serve for administrative purposes until further notice.
Meanwhile Dr Miti has also suspended all appointments, transfers, secondment and promotions in the civil and public service until further notice.
Dr Miti in a circular dated 6th September, 2021 and written to all Permanent Secretaries, and to heads of public institutions advising them that such processes were halted until further notice.
He said the content of the circular should be brought to the attention of all workers and supervisors to ensure that the directive was strictly adhered to.
“This serves to inform all addressees that all appointments, transfers, secondments and promotions in the public service, for both local and foreign Service, are hereby suspended with immediate effect,’’ he said.
Dr Miti said this suspension would be in effect until further notice.
