Stanchart hits 88p.c. digital level

OVER 88 percent of transactio­ns for Standard Chartered Bank Zambia are being conducted through the digital platform, an indication that customers have positively adopted the channels.

The bank has therefore been named Best Consumer Digital Bank in Zambia 2021 by the prestigiou­s Global Finance Awards for the eighth consecutiv­e year.

With the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, it is imperative that financial institutio­ns provide safe and innovative ways for customers, says Standard Chartered Bank Zambia’s Head of Consumer, Private and Business Banking, DeepPal Singh.

Mr Singh said his organisati­on continued to keep its thumb on the digital pulse by bringing additional services to its digital platforms such as Member-Get-Member referral code now available on SC Mobile App.

“With the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, it is imperative that financial institutio­ns provide safe and innovative ways for our customers to bank.

“As a bank we are proud to note that over 88 percent of our transactio­ns are now being done on our digital platforms. Our clients are effectivel­y “banking-on-the-go” he said in a statement.

On the award, Mr Singh said the Bank had proved that it continued to be the leading digital bank in Zambia in providing innovation and convenienc­e to its clients and the public at large.

This reward, he said, was simply an appreciati­on for referring a new client to the bank digitally. Mr Singh said bank had continued to implement its digitisati­on strategy, which had seen clients open a bank account end-to-end digitally without the need to visit a physical branch.

“To date, we remain the only truly digital consumer bank in Zambia that continues to pioneer and lead the digital migration of banking services by offering digital integratio­n across our products, with over 70 client services being seamlessly integrated and executable on our SC Mobile App,” he said.
