JUST DELIVER, NAKACINDA TELLS UPND

- By SIMON MUNTEMBA

THE UPND-led Government should just deliver on its campaign promises and not behave like a newly wedded man who avoids "meeting" his wife in the bedroom and expects her to get pregnant miraculously, PF Member of the Central committee (MCC), Raphael Nakachinda has said.

Mr Nakacinda said there was no justification for those calling on Zambians to exercise patience on the UPND-led Government to fulfil its campaign promises when the ruling party has diverted from the promises it made during campaigns immediately after forming Government.

He said giving the new Government more chance to deliver campaign promises without reminding them was like watching a person being murdered without trying to rescue the victim.

He said this yesterday in Petauke when he was featured on PASME Radio programme.

He said the President would never deliver if he is allowed to U-turn on the campaign promises, just like a married man running away from his wife.

"He can't impregnate his wife if he is running away from the bedroom. Just like a gentleman who is running away from his wife in a bedroom, the President is running away from the free education campaign promise that he made to the Zambians and why should we expect him to deliver?" Mr Nakacinda said.

He was reacting to a caller only identified himself as Emmanuel who said it was too early to ask the UPND-led Government to fulfil its campaign promises when it has been in Government for only one month.

"It's too premature to ask President Hakainde Hichilema to fulfil his campaign promises when he is just a month old in office," Mr Emmanuel said. Mr Nakacinda said calls to give President Hichilema time to settle before fulfilling his promises were misplaced because he had u-turned on his free education promises.
