Nkwazi FC, Buffaloes clash in Lusaka derby

- By MICHAEL MIYOBA

AFTER a perfect start which saw them humble Nkana FC 3-2 last weekend in Kitwe, high flying Nkwazi FC will host rivals Green Buffaloes as the two sides renew their rivalry in a clash of the titans at Edwin Imboela Stadium in Lusaka.

Nkwazi will seek maximum points to maintain their perfect start to remain in the top four bracket on the MTN/FAZ Super League table.

It is another tough test for Nkwazi coach Dennis Makinka who will be hoping that midfielder Stephen Mutama will be at his best today after he was directly involved in all the three goals scored at Nkana Stadium where he netted one and made assists for Christopher Zulu and Nelson Mwila.

Meanwile, Buffaloes will be searching for their first win after a 1-1 draw against Lusaka Dynamos in last weekend’s fixture at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka.

In other Super League fixtures, Konkola Blades will seek to maintain their dream start when they face Lusaka Dynamos at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka.

After shocking Power Dynamos with a 1-0 beating last weekend, Blades will be hoping to avoid defeat to Lusaka Dynamos who may prove to be a hard nut to crack after they gave Buffaloes a tough time in the previous fixture.

At Chambishi Stadium, Indeni begin their search for their first win when they face promoted Chambishi FC who were involved in a goalless draws against Kafue Celtics last week.

After being motivated with a K500, 000 sponsorship package from Indo Zambia Bank, Kafue Celtics who have been challenged to become a top performer in the league travel to Kitwe for a date with Forest Rangers who have acquired the services of striker Bornwel Mwape who has signed a twoyear deal with the Ndola outfit.

The match will be played at Nkana Stadium which will host a double header with the other fixture being a clash between Buildcon and Prison Leopards who will be facing off in an early kick off.

Tomorrow’s Super League action will see Power Dynamos aiming to bounce back from the 1-0 defeat to Blades when they host Green Eagles who commenced the Super League with a 2-1 defeat to Buildcon FC.

The anticipated fixture involving Kabwe Warriors, Zesco United, Red Arrows, Kansanshi Dynamos and Zanaco versus Nkana have been pushed to a later date because Kabwe Warriors, Zanaco, Zesco and Red Arrows are involved in continental games.
