PATRIOTIC Front members in Solwezi have expressed displeasure over the appointment of Mr Enock Kapalu and Mr Benson Ngambo as provincial chairman and deputy respectively.

Speaking during a media briefing, Solwezi central constituency chairman Robert Lutembula said the members are disappointed with the appointment of the two.

Mr Lutembula stated that the lower structures will not recognise their appointment because they were not consulted.

“As lower party structures, we were supposed to be involved and consulted because we are stakeholders. But there was nothing like that,” said Mr Lutembula.

Mr Lutembula alleged that Mr Kapalu is not a unifier and therefore cannot run the party especially that it is in opposition.

He also alleged that whilst he (Kapalu) was provincial mobilisation coordinator, he failed to mobilise the party.

“So we want someone who is going to work tirelessly with all party structures in rebranding the party,” he said .

“Otherwise for us here in Solwezi, we are saying no to their appointments and we will not recognise them as our leaders,” he said.

Last week, the party appointed Mr Kapalu and Mr Ngambo as provincial chairman and vice respectively.

But when contacted for a comment, party vice president Given Lubinda said the matter will be resolved administratively.
