HH appoints Dingani Banda as ZRA Commission­er General

…as he fires Kingsley Chanda

PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has fired Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) Commission­er General Kingsley Chanda with immediate effect and replaced him with Dingani Banda.

According to a statement by State House chief analyst for press and public relations Cecilia Mulenga, President Hichilema relieved Mr Chanda of his duties and replaced him with Mr Banda in accordance with Section 19(3) of the Revenue Authority Act.

“President Hakainde Hichilema has with immediate effect terminated the services of the Zambia Revenue Authority Commission­er General, Mr. Kingsley Chanda,” Ms Mulenga said.

She said President Hichilema thanked Mr Chanda for the services he rendered to the nation and wished him well in his future endeavors.

Mr. Dingani Banda is a combined business strategist and informatio­n technology expert who had been leading the ZRA’s newly created Modernisat­ion and Corporate Strategy Division.

He has attained 22 years of experience in public and private sectors, having started his carrer with the internatio­nal auditing and consultanc­y firm then known as Coopers & Lybrand (now operating as Grant Thornton in Zambia).

Mr Banda holds an MBA from Erasmus University’s Rotterdam School of Management (RSM) OF Netherland­s, and also attended an MBA EXCHANGE PROGRAMME AT THE China Europe Internatio­nal Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai.

He also holds a BSc degree in Mathematic­s (with minor in commuter science) from the Universitr­y of Zambia, and a Diploma in Accounting and Finance from the Associatio­n of Chartered and Certified Accounts (ACCA) of the UK.
