Manufacturers’ week key in providing opportunities
THE manufactures’ week provides business opportunities and recommends sound policy direction relevant for economic transformation and growth of the manufacturing sector.
It is therefore imperative for players in the sector to participate in the coming manufactures week which is critical in showcasing local products, says Zambia Association of Manufacturers Chief Executive Officer, Florence Muleya.
Ms Muleya emphasised that the event was critical to the growth of the manufacturing sector and the Zambian economy at large.
“The series of events endeavour to change perceptions of the manufacturing sector by the general public, provide business opportunities and recommend sound policy direction relevant for economic transformation and growth of the manufacturing sector,” she said in an interview.
The week, Ms Muleya emphasised, also presented attractive partnership opportunities.
She explained that academia, researchers and many more have built significant networks that spur interactions relevant for turning ideas into finished products through the event.
“Some companies have reported that after taking part in the Manufacturers Week, they have experienced an increase in sales volume due to exposure of their goods to consumers.
“Other companies have had their policy requests quickly dealt with after liaising with the policy makers and some have gone ahead to win regional awards after being recognised during the Week,” Ms Muleya said.
The 10th manufacturer’s week, which runs from 14th to 19th November 2021 under the theme, “Accelerating Economic Transformation through Value Addition.”
