‘PF youths won’t join UPND’

- By ROGERS KALERO

PATRIOTIC Front (PF) youths have not joined the ruling UPND despite losing the August elections because they know that the ruling party has nothing to offer apart from lies, political rhetoric and fake campaign promises,’’ the PF has said.

PF Copperbelt youth secretary Moses Musonda said the party under President Edgar Lungu had set the stage for economic recovery, but Zambians wanted change to test the leadership of the ‘New Dawn’ government of President Hakainde Hichilema which they were already regretting less than two months in government.

In an interview in Kitwe yesterday, Mr Musonda said after changing government, Zambians have an opportunity to compare the leadership of the PF under President Lungu and the UPND under the leadership of President Hichilema which promised Zambians ‘Heaven on Earth’.

Mr Musonda said the PF will not tell Zambians anything, but will leave them to compare the PF and the UPND governments and make their own judgement especially after the campaign promises made by President Hichilema during campaigns ahead of the August elections.

“After losing the August elections, we are watching from the terraces how the intelligent ‘New Dawn’ government is fulfilling its campaign promises. President Hichilema promised that the Kwacha will appreciate against the dollar after his inauguration, but nothing has happened up to now.

“Youths are yet to be employed, free education is yet to come. On fertiliser, he has not only failed to reduce its price, but he is yet to distribute it to farmers. There are many promises which he made, but his government is still waffling. Am sure Zambians are able to see what kind of government the UPND government is,’’ Mr Musonda said. Mr Musonda said he was proud of President Lungu for delivering on many campaign promises despite being called all sorts of names by the ruling party and those seeking jobs from President Hichilema.

He said, instead of insulting the PF and President Lungu, those seeking jobs from President Hichilema should just go and kneel before President Hichilema to seek for jobs.

“As Copperbelt provincial youth secretary I’m very proud and I can boast myself and walk around with my head up on the streets of Copperbelt province that under president Mr Edgar Chagwa Lungu, we have done a lot to the Zambian people.
