Buumba is a hardcore tribalist, not Kambwili, says Saboi

- By NATION REPORTER

BUUMBA Malambo is a hardcore tribalist, the police should look at her remarks objectively so that she can face the law, NDC faction leader Saboi Imboela has said.

Ms Imboela said remarks by Ms Malambo, the Kafue Council chairperson during the campaigns for the August 12 elections were more tribal than those of PF member, Chishimba Kambwili who is under investigation by the police.

She explained that tribalism was the behaviour and attitude that comes from believing that one’s tribe was more superior than others.

Ms Imboela said the loyalty and consciousness to one’s tribe was what constituted tribalism.

“So having said that, and examining what Mr. Kambwili and Ms Malambo said before elections, who is a tribalist between the two or are they cut from the same cloth?” she said.

Ms Imboela said if Mr Mr Kambwili, who is a Bemba, said things against Tongas, then what he said could fall under hate speech if found guilty for that, not tribalism.

She said unless he went to Bembaland and told people that Bembas were superior and so should not vote for anyone else but a Bemba.

Ms Imboela said Ms Malambo, who is Tonga, did exactly that, saying she stood in a predominantly Tonga place with Tonga people at the high table and audience, and while speaking in Tonga told the people gathered that they should vote “for their own.” She said Ms Mulambo even called Tongas who had not yet resolved to vote for a fellow Tonga dull and to wake up and vote for a Tonga president, MP, Council chairperson and councillors.
