Chimwemwe MP secures bursary support

- By ROGERS KALERO

My efforts to secure bursary support for the vulnerable youths is aimed at cushioning the impact and hardships which many people were facing due to their financial inability to take their deserving children for further studies at tertiary level, Chimwemwe Member of Parliament Allen Banda has said.

Mr Banda said the scarcity in financial means at household level was resulting in most parents' failure to take their deserving children for further studies at tertiary level hence his initiative to secure bursaries for those who were vulnerable.

Mr Banda was speaking yesterday after he disclosed that he had managed to secure 100 bursaries support for vulnerable youths in the Constituency for the 2022 academicyear at the Zambia Institute of Business Studies and Industrial Practice (ZIBSIP) in Kitwe.

"I wish to inform you that as your servant, I have managed to secure 100 bursaries support for the vulnerable youths in Chimwemwe constituency for the 2022 academic year at the Zambia Institute of Business Studies and Industrial Practice in Kitwe.

"This is in line with our commitment and promises made during our campaigns to ensure that we lift the living standards of our residents through the provision of social amenities such as good health care and quality education,'' Mr Banda said.

He also added that ,'' this was also in line with our strong believe that Education is the best equaliser between the privileged and the underprivileged in our society.

He said the deserving candidates or applicants, will not be required to pay anything provided they met the requirements of being Zambian in possession of a Green National Registration Card (NRC).
