NKWAZI SHAME ‘BANKERS’...

As Buffaloes maintained three point lead

HIGH flying Nkwazi strengthen­ed their chances of challengin­g for the Super League title after humiliatin­g Zanaco FC 2-0 in a Week-11 fixture at Edwin Imboela Stadium in Lusaka yesterday.

A second half brace from striker Christophe­r Zulu was all Nkwazi needed to get the crucial win which propelled them to 21 points while maintainin­g second position on the Super League table.

After a goalless first half, Nkwazi outplayed the “Bankers” in the second stanza with Zulu breaking the deadlock with a sublime finish from outside the 18-yard in the 59th minute.

Zulu completed a brace with another wonderful finish in the 75th minute to put the game beyond reach for Zanaco who have now gone four games without a win.

Meanwhile, Buffaloes maintained a three-point lead at the summit of the MTN/FAZ Super table after gifting Kafue Celtics their fourth loss of the season, edging them 1-0 beating in a lunch time kick off at Imboela Stadium in Lusaka.

League top scorer Friday Samu scored the lone goal which propelled Buffaloes to 25 points on the log.

Samu converted a penalty won in the sixth minute of the game to move his goal tally to 11 goals. At Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola, Forest Rangers came from behind to beat Indeni 2-1 thanks to late goals from Thomas Chideu and Erick Chomba.

Cephas Handavu had given Indeni the lead two minutes before the break while Chideu inspired Forest’s come back with an 87th minute equaliser before Chomba scored the winner in the second minute of added time.

In the second match of the double header at the same vanue, Buildcon bounced back to winning ways after thumping Chambishi 2-0 thanks to goals from Timothy Sakala and Brian Mwila who scored in the 43rs and 52nd minute respective­ly.

At Independen­ce Stadium in Choma, striker Joseph Kanema scored in injury time as Green Eagles beat Kansanshi Dynamos 1-0.

Meanwhile, Power Dynamos picked their second win of the season after beating Kabwe Warriors 2-0 at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.

A strike from Frederick Mulambia and a late penalty from Godfrey Ngwenya gave Dynamos some hope as they moved to 16th position on the log with 10 points.

At Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka, Red Arrows returned to winning ways after stunning Lusaka Dynamos 1-0 thanks to James Chamanga’s first half goal.
